WordPress 5.5 introduced a new feature aimed at developers: Environment types. You can now specify the type of server in your wp-config file. Code can then make decisions based on whether a site is “production”, “staging” or any other type.
Display Environment Type is a small plugin I created to display to show you on which type of server you are when you’re working in wp-admin. I often have multiple sites open for editing, and this should help avoid any confusion.
Display Environment Type is available from the workpress.org plugin repository.
Please let me know what you think. Suggestions welcome at the plugin’s GitHub repo.
